Registration
You apply right on the conference's dashboard. It holds a single form that takes you through your application step by step. Once you send it, the dashboard turns into your application, which you complete before the application deadline.
Before you start
- Account: Sign in with Sign in. The first time, DELEGATOR asks you under My Account, with the notice Complete data, for your personal details: name, birthday, phone number, address, gender, food preference and emergency contacts. After Save you continue where you were heading. You must be at least 13 years old.
- Finding the conference: The dashboard lists every conference, grouped by its stage. The ones under Registration open are the ones you can apply for right now. Open one to reach its dashboard.
- One part per conference: You take part in a conference in exactly one way: as a delegation member, on your own, as a supervisor or on the team. If you already have a part in it, DELEGATOR refuses a second one.
You only see the application form while you have no part in the conference and registration is open. Otherwise the dashboard shows You are not taking part and tells you whether registration has not opened yet or is already closed.
Choosing how to take part
In the Sign up section, the first step, Choose a path, offers four ways in:

- Create delegation: You found a delegation, lead it and invite the others. For a state or a non-state actor you apply as a group of at least two people.
- Join delegation: Someone has already founded a delegation and given you a code.
- Individual application: You apply on your own for a special role, such as the conference press.
- Supervisor: You accompany your students as a teacher or club leader.
The steps of the path you picked then open below, one after the other. A finished step gets a check mark and only shows what you chose. Edit opens it again.
Not sure which path fits you? Start assistant asks you a few questions and leads you to the right one. How do I apply? shows the same as a diagram. Seats of the Conference shows which states, non-state actors and roles the conference offers.
Older links
Links like /registration/<id>/create-delegation, or a join link with a code, still work. They lead to the conference's dashboard and open the form on the matching path.
Creating a delegation
- Choose Create delegation. The Info step briefly explains what that means: you apply together, you become the head delegate and invite the others with a code. If you are on your own or only want to supervise, you can switch straight to Individual application or Apply as Supervisor from here. Otherwise click Next.
- School: Pick your school from the suggestions or type its full name. You may also leave the field empty.
- Motivation: Why is your delegation applying to the conference?
- Experience: How much experience do you have with simulation games like Model United Nations?
- Click Create delegation.
Motivation and experience are part of the selection process, so careful answers improve your chances. You can leave them empty for now and fill them in on the dashboard later.
Your delegation now exists, and the dashboard shows what is still open under Your application:
- Invite people: A delegation needs at least two members. Under Delegation Members, Invite more people shows your code. You can copy it (Copy code), send a link (Copy join link) or show a QR code (Show QR code). As head delegate, Rotate Code gives you a new code, and the old one stops working.
- Enter delegation preferences: Set Preferences lets you pick at least three states or non-state actors you would like to represent, and put them in your order with the arrows. Only roles with enough seats for all members are offered. If your delegation grows, preferences that no longer fit are dropped.
- Answer questionnaire: Motivation and experience under Information and Motivation have to be filled in.
As head delegate you can hand the lead to someone else with Make Head Delegate, or take a member out with Remove member. Everyone names their own school, and you can change yours at any time.
Completing the application
Once every task is done, the head delegate completes the application with Complete registration and participate in the selection process. Only completed applications take part in the selection process.
Complete it in time
The deadline is shown right under Your application. A delegation that has not completed its application by then is not considered in the selection process. After completing it you cannot change anything, and nobody else can join.
You will hear the result of the selection process by email. What happens on the dashboard after that is described under Dashboard.
Joining a delegation
To join, you need the code from your head delegate. It has eight characters, and older six-character codes still work. If you got a join link, the code is already filled in.
- Choose Join delegation.
- Type the code in the Enter code step.
- Check the details: conference, school, head delegate and number of members.
- Which school/institution do you come from? is filled in with the head delegate's school. Change it if you come from another one, or leave it empty.
- Click Confirm.
If the code matches no delegation, you see No delegations found. After ten wrong codes in ten minutes you have to wait a few minutes. You cannot join a delegation that has already completed its application.
As a member you can see the whole application, but only the head delegate can change and complete it.
Applying as a single participant
Individual applications are for special roles that are not tied to a delegation, for example the conference press. For a state you always apply as a delegation.
- Choose Individual application.
- In the Choose a role step, pick a role and click Choose this role.
- Name your School (optional) and answer Motivation and Experience.
- Click Individual application.
On the dashboard, Add another application under Role Applications lets you apply for more roles. If you are not accepted for any of them, the team will contact you and suggest another role.
Just like a delegation, you complete your application yourself once you have applied for at least one role and answered the questionnaire. The button and the deadline are the same as for completing a delegation's application.
Registering as a supervisor
As a supervisor you accompany your students, for example as a teacher or club leader. You see their applications and status and can help them with the organisation. You do not get a seat of your own, so there is no application to complete.
- Choose Supervisor.
- Under School / Institution, say where you are from. It is optional and helps the team look after a school's delegations together.
- Under Attendance, choose whether you come along (I'm coming along, which includes paying the participation fee) or only accompany the preparation (I supervise from afar).
- Click Register as supervisor.
Delegations can also send you a link of their own (Copy supervisor link). It opens the Registration for Supervisors page with the same steps. You can still only sign up there while the conference is taking applications.
Connecting with your students
For privacy reasons you cannot add your students yourself. They connect with you:
- On your dashboard, Connect with students shows your code and a link you can send. Rotate Code gives you a new one.
- Your students enter the code on their dashboard under Supervisors, at Connect Supervisor, or open your link, which fills the code in for them.
- They see your name and school and click Connect.
Check before connecting
Only participant care can undo a connection, and once connected the supervisor sees the person's data and status. If the supervisor is at a different school, DELEGATOR points that out before connecting.
The waiting list
Once the application period is over and the conference is In preparation, you can put yourself on the waiting list. The conference's dashboard then shows Join the waiting list now. Applicants who did not get a seat in the selection process find the button there too, once the assignment has been released.
- On the Vacancies / Waiting List page, fill in the Questionnaire: your school (optional), your motivation and your experience.
- If you have special requests about your role or committee, add them. Every restriction lowers your chances, so leave the field empty for the best ones.
- Click Save.
The page then confirms that you are on the waiting list. You change your details with the same form, and Leave the waiting list gives up your place on it. When a seat becomes free, participant care will contact you.
If you already have a seat at the conference, you cannot join the waiting list. Applicants wait until the assignment has been released.
Withdrawing an application
As long as your application is not completed, you can withdraw it under Danger Zone on the dashboard:
- Leave Delegation: You leave the delegation, as long as others are still in it. If the head delegate leaves, another member takes over.
- Delete Delegation: The head delegate deletes the whole delegation.
- Delete all applications: You withdraw your individual application.
While registration is open, you can then apply again another way. Once the application is completed, you can no longer do this yourself. Contact participant care instead and give them the ID shown at the bottom of the Danger Zone.
